B’nai Or’s Children Education Program, Or Yeladim, is seeking 2 Jewish Renewal Educators for Students in Grades K - 3 and Grades 4-7 (Part-time 6 hours month):

Growing, heart-centered Jewish Renewal Community seeking two dynamic and loving educators for our expanding Sunday school for children K-7.  We require two individuals who are familiar with or open to learning about Jewish Renewal and are willing to collaborate with our Children’s Life Committee to implement a new curriculum and make it come alive. 

Our ideal candidates are creative, engaging, and inspiring; have excellent classroom management skills; are able to create and maintain a developmentally appropriate, consistent, structured, rhythmic routine and environment for a diverse group of young children.  Ability to lead children in music and dance is a plus and will be compensated accordingly.  These educators will be overseen by the Children’s Life Committee and will work in cooperation with our visiting Rabbi.  The Sunday school will meet twice monthly September - Early June, 2008-09, 10:00 – 12:00.  Additional hours will be scheduled to meet with the Committee.  Salary range is $150 - $180 per month (estimate of 6 hours includes actual teaching time and prep time).

Requirements for Grades K-3 Educator: has 2 years experience working with children in grades K-3 (in a Jewish context a plus); knowledge of and ability to teach beginning Hebrew is necessary.

Requirements for Grades 4-7 Educator: has 2 years prior experience working with children ages 10-13 (in a Jewish context a plus); knowledge of and ability to teach Hebrew is necessary.
